During the 1910s young girls wore big bows on their hair that fell onto the head, and so they became known as "flappers". The name would stick with this generation, as they grew up in the 1920s.

very pretty! and it could have been worn again just about 50 years later in the 70s with the color scheme it's got going on:)
And I'm seeing a lot of baggy blouse/dresses these days. If this were a little shorter it could definitely be worn today.
